Just Magnolia - Green Challenge

Hey there & today I'm posting for the Just Magnolia 'Green' challenge (if you've seen my previous post - this is the card I decided to use for the challenge in the end!) Anyhow make sure you use the link above to check out the fabulous work by the rest of the design team, then be sure to show us your take on 'green' by entering your creation for a chance to win a fab prize too!
I decided on a nature theme ready for spring & things all starting stirr in the ground! I knew I had some great quotes for this kind of thing that I wanted to use, so decided on an easel layout to pinch a bit more space for the words.... soooo here's what I ended up with!...

Photobucket

...The papers are by HOTP, edges have been inked with Walnut Satin using  a blending tool & slightly distressed with a craft knife. I've then sewn around all the edges with my new much loved sewing machine - Can't express how much I'm lovin me sewin machine at the mo!!! - just how much do those stitches add to your card?!!! Here's a closer look...

Photobucket

...The fab Tilda is 'Watercan Tilda' from the Sweet Rainbow' collection  who was just perfect for this make - you can just imagine her diggin' those flower beds & watering the plants with those ever so cute little tools...

...She's been coloured as usual with Distress Inks & gave me chance to use my newer & much under-used DI colour 'Bundled Sage' - great colour, I mixed with a little Shabby Shutters & shaded with Frayed Burlap, Walnut Satin & Black Soot...

...After achieving my desired look (2nd time round mind - see me previous post!) I just HAD to find the perfect charm to go with the papers & green fingered Tilda & I think this is defo it - how cute is this spade charm?!! The seam binding started life as cream & I sprayed with 2 different shades of green micas...

...The fabulous looking sentiment is actually off a great little HOTP CD-rom thats packed full of these stylish layed out quotes, think it's called '1000 card quotes.'

Just Magnolia - Green challenge

Hi there & today I'm posting a card I made for the Just Magnolia challenge which is to use green. It's not  one of my more common colour schemes, which is why I love challenges so much cause it makes you come up with things you never would have on your own, & often with better results! So here's what I did...

Photobucket

...Anyhow after finishing & contemplating I decided it probably just wasn't quite 'green' enough for the challenge - so I went back to the drawing board & started again, you can check out what I did in my next post. Here's a closer look at this one...

Photobucket

... The stunning papers are Pixie Glen by Prima - this pad I must say just keeps delivering! I've used it for so many makes recently & achieved so many different looks with it, fab...fab...FAB collection - thankyou Prima for such scrummy papers!!! I also used 2 Magnolia images 'Tilda with Hawaii Flower' & 'Stone Path' both from the Butterfly Dreams collection...

Photobucket

...Images have been coloured with Distress Inks & highlighted with Glamour Dust...

...All the roses are from WOC. The fancy tag below is by Spellbinders & the butterflies are Martha Stewart...

Magnolia Card 'Tilda with Kite' for Mothers Day!

Hi all & today I have a Mothers Day card that I've made & am so chuffed with - think it may be my fave make yet! I've been obsessed with 'finding my style' for the nest part of last year & was really getting miffed that I coundn't seem to put ym finger on it. I massively admire people who have such a distinctive style so that when you see their cards - you instantly know its theirs. Where as mine were just all over the place - I felt really frustrated with it & just wasn't getting the 'look' I wanted or easing into a style of my own I felt happy with. However more recently I feel like I've been getting somewhere with this & when I finished this card & a few other recent makes I thought - hmmm, yeah thats what I'm talking about! I still wouldn't say I was totally content, but defo feel like I'm getting there! ... Is it just me who torments themselves with this nonsence??!! you all probably think I'm mad (& you probably wouldn't be far wrong there either!) haha.

Photobucket

...I just LOVE this paper pad by Kaisercraft, here's a closer look...

Photobucket

...Card has a removable tag, which I made from a die-cut from the paper pad & matted onto bazzil cardstock. I then added an eyelet, lace, charm & decorative stamps...

...Here's the tag out of the card...

...Flowers are from WOC I've distressed them with white paint, then added glitter...

...Love these Tim Holtz ornate bookplates, this one I've painted white & added glitter to, then made a center piece from coreogated card, painted & inked & added some mini-alphas by Prima to spell the 'MUM' sentiment...

...I made a small shabby bow & added an old butterfly jewellrey hair piece that I sprayed white & added glitter to, I then added a Prima say it in pearls & crystals swirl coming from the kite strings!...

...This card comes with a matching box & is available to purchase for Mothers Day / Special Mums/ Mums birthdays etc. from my ebay store (see link in side bar)
